This is an opportunity for learning, laughs, and a great time spent with fellow knitters. At MDK World Headquarters, you’ll be with Arne and Carlos for an exciting new class: Design Your Own Norwegian Sweater. They write:

Inspired by the way our Norwegian ancestors used to work, we teach you how to create your own special sweater, using a basic formula and small colorwork charts. We'll explain the formula and how to create the body and sleeve proportions based on your measurements and body shape.

You'll receive handouts with the complete formula, plus small charts of traditional Norwegian and Faroese designs, so you may combine patterns as you like to create your unique design. The workshop is mainly theoretical—as one cannot knit a full sweater in a class—but you will knit a swatch in class to determine the gauge and which colorwork designs you'd like for your design.

Materials to bring: US size 4, 5, 6 needles for swatching in DK-weight yarn, a measuring tape, and a sweater or top that fits well (hand knitted or machine made). Rowan Norwegian Wool yarn will be provided for swatching and for purchase in sweater quantities. This one workshop will be offered at two times: 9:00 am-noon and 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. $199 + tax.
